Fall From Grace

So Kent just got an ambulance ride biting the dust off Hardin Towell's former FEI mount owned by Evergate? Plenty of good back story there no doubt.

Kent is riding Lucifier, McLain is riding another, makes you wonder how badly it ended with Howdin in the end. Sayre Happy just got a new horse (link below) no indication who bought it but one would think Gates.

The horse bucked him off. I overheard Jimmy Torano say that Kent landed on his feet, then went down. From what I understand his lower leg snapped.

Yeah, I believe WOSJ said the horse landed and was play-bucking, then dove left and Kent went up over the shoulder. Think they said he landed standing on his right leg, which then buckled. Compound fracture in that leg and surgery shortly after for repair.

Still #1 in the rankings.
No dutch masters for him as he was the Grand Slam new contender.
I wonder if he'll be alright for the other Major events.

I can't imagine with 2 compound fractures in the 1 leg that April World Cup Finals in Paris is looking promising.

I broke my tib/fib in multiple places Halloween 2016. 2 surgeries in the first week with 20 screws holding the fixating 2 titanium plates. 12 weeks in a wheel chair, 12 weeks learning to walk again. A whole year in PT. He's not going to be back this season.

If he can pull that off it would be pretty miraculous. He's still on bed rest now. That says to me that his fractures were worse than mine if he's not even allowed to be in a wheelchair.

And just as a comparison, I broke mine in 8 places.

Old news but clarifying - the horse didn’t buck him off, it had been bucking, it dropped it’s shoulder and dumped him (dirty). Word on the streets of PBP is that he’s back in the saddle and planning on showing at LGCT NY.

He’s back in the saddle in seven weeks?!? If that’s true, good for him. It sounds like a medical miracle, as broken legs go.

Unbelievable to see Kent in such top form at Windsor. He’ll back back at #1 in no time. Cheers to the team keeping the horses ready to go.
